It is the holiday season and lots of parties and events are happening!

Planes, trains and automobiles and yes limousines — getting to and from Boca Raton and around Palm Beach and Broward should be the least of your worries. When planning your trip to one of South Florida’s most exclusive destinations a little guidance is in order.

Traveling by air can always be a tad stressful, but with three major airports surrounding the Boca area, your options are much greater and easier to navigate. A few months ago I started a fabulous layer to my real estate business by adding more local, real estate resources and information for the consumer and my customers on our local South Florida area.

TIPS ON HOLIDAY TIPPING!

The holiday season is the traditional time to say “thank you” to those who have provided service to you throughout the year. One of the best ways to express your appreciation is a holiday tip or gift, accompanied by a hand-written note.

Every situation is different, so let common sense, specific circumstances, and holiday spirit be your guides. The following tip amounts are merely guidelines. What to give is always an individual decision.

  • Au pair/Nanny A gift from your family (or one week’s pay), plus a small gift from your child
  • Babysitter One evening’s pay, plus a small gift from your child
  • Barber/Hairdresser Cost of one haircut, and/or gift
  • Child’s Teacher Give a gift, not cash (gift certificate for coffee shop, book store, restaurant or joint gift with other parents and children)
  • Day Care Providers $25 to $70 each, plus a small gift from your child
  • Housekeeper One day’s pay
  • Mail Carriers No cash, gifts worth up to $20 each
  • Pet Groomer One session’s fee, and/or a small gift
  • Pool Cleaner Cost of one cleaning
  • Yard/Garden Worker $20 to $50 each

Here is my latest Five in the Hive Seller Tips…you can listen or watch…but make sure you do what I am recommending…it makes a huge difference value wise when you get ready or are thinking about selling your property. Or if you like to read…
there are some tips below!

1. Take care of repairs. When buyers see something that needs repair, it makes them feel anxious. They wonder how much extra work owning your home will be for them.

2. Remove clutter from the property. It will make your home look larger. You may even want o to remove a few items of furniture. Think about each room and the story it tells. Make sure the purpose of each room is clear. It can be confusing when bedrooms are made out as offices, as the buyer may not be able to picture that room as a bedroom. Each room should have a story to tell.

3. Focus on small changes instead of making major renovations. A fresh coat of paint is one of the easiest ways to spruce the place up, not to mention an affordable alternative.

4. First Area They See. In the event you only had enough time and money to invest in one area of the house, you should invest it in the area or room anyone walking in your front door sees first. It could be a large hallway, family room or living room. Regardless, you should pay special attention to this area. Remember, first impressions are everything. Make sure this area is always clean and clutter free. The first impression may be the only impression left on a buyer.

5 Take Care of any Bad Odors. Bad odors are bad and can instantly turn off a buyer, especially cigarette smoke, mold and pet odors. Science has proven that smells and scents can evoke strong emotions. What is the best part of a new car – the new car smell? What emotions does the smell of your home evoke? Utilize spray and plug-in air fresheners. A good smell can hide a bad or old smell relatively easy. However, it’s important not to overpower the senses by aromas that are too strong. A buyer may think you are trying to hide something.
