(PS…Please drink responsibly, order Lyft or Uber and let us know of other breweries we might want to check out! )

    Lets Get Started!

     1. Brickyard Microbrewery

Brickyard Microbrewery is a very popular microbrewery in The Garden Shops here in Boca! Get a taste of  appys, fajitas, flatbread, “burgers in a box” and more plus with over 50 hand-crafted beers on tap. You should try one of the featured beers of the month like  the Green Bench IPA”.  They have a delicious and affordable menu with happy hours and live music. Meet your friends and enjoy a casual surrounding with tons of TVs, great food and some of  the best beer in Boca!

     2. Barrel of Monks Brewery

Are you ready for a brewery tour? Well check out Boca Raton’s Barrel of Monks Brewery just off of Rogers Circle near Clintmoore Road and Congress. Specializing in Belgium beer this group of friends have created a popular spot with a great choice of beers and food trucks (just check the calendar)! Do you love to chill? This is a perfect place for you. We suggest you try their locally made ‘Blood Orange Gose Sour Belgian-Style Blonde with Blood Orange & Sea Salt”…delish! Not to mention you can have a private event here or private meetings…cheers to that!

    3. The Funky Buddha

You might have heard of this magical place, but, you’ll never know the magic it holds until you visit it. We are talking about The Funky Buddha Brewery. This brewery gives you excellent service and a huge selection of craft beers from lagers, to bottled, on tap and ales. You can drink beer (110 choices by the way) or drink some tea (40 choices), or partake in a choice from 40 different flavors of shishas for the hookahs. 4. Prosperity Brewers

Beers infused with a tropical flair…you have us at hello! These Boca gals are suckers for the tropical and tasty beers like Red Reef and Palm Beach Tart LOL. Not to mention they are right next to the Flamingo House which we do enjoy (hint Art Walks happen frequently). This is a nano brewery just north of Spanish River in the warehouse district (yes you turn at the Cumberland Farms to get to this location). Old Boca folks will totally get this reference. Check out their event schedule too…like Sip & Stretch on Saturday.

    5. Yard House

If you need to get your “beer” on while the fam is shopping at Mizner Park you can pop into Yard House and try one of their 125 choices of beers and ciders. We love the “Chalkboard Series ” draft beer idea but once posted they go fast! If you want malty, floral, strong, hoppy or something else check out their full menu. Great food and they have gluten free and vegetarian selections too.

    6. SaltWater Brewery

Although not “in” Boca it is right across the line in Delray Beach (a sister city). This place is just awesome. Founded in 2013 this is the first local production microbrewery in Delray, with tasting room and beer garden on sight.  These folks are passionate about their beer and giving back to charities that support our oceans and name their beers accordingly like “Sea Cow Milk Stout” and “Screamin’ Reels IPA.”  The environment should be given an award for creativity due to its unique location…gotta love it! There are a great number of year round, seasonal and special release beers to choose from.  The tasting room, appropriately called “The Reef Room” has beers on tap plus Saltwater Brewery has food trucks, craft nights and many a networking and private event at this cool location. You need to buzz on by!

    7. Due South Brewery

Due South Brewery a lively, fun and busy place in Boynton Beach, another sister city.  Housed in a large 27,000 square foot location off High Ridge Road…yup you have probably driven right by … sooo now you know! What makes this place amazing? This is a veteran owned and operated brewery that supplies beer from Key West to Daytona and Orlando to Tampa on the west coast of FLA! You can take a tour (just check the schedule) We love the “Nun With a Chainsaw” IPA cuz we went through Hurricane Irma too. Stouts, ales, drafts and more this is a great spot to meet friends and raise a glass! PS…they have wine selections and events on their calendar weekly so check it out!

    Art Boca Raton 2018

Truly one of my new favorite events in beautiful Boca Raton! The Vernissage of Art Boca Raton 2018 was on Wednesday night this week and OMG…to view these magnificent pieces of art and some sooo historical by the way is just a wonderful way to spend an evening. There is nothing like sipping an icy cold glass of champagne and lite bites while walking through the 45,000 sq. foot white tent directly on Florida Atlantic University campus and watching the sun set while private jets take off into the dimming Boca Raton sky.

Click on the video to experience just a tiny bit of what I enjoyed this week…then get your tickets to Art Boca Raton 2018…you can thank me later!

This is the 3rd annual Art Boca Raton 2018 event and is from March 14 -18th. The gallery owners  and artists are all wonderful to speak to and very knowledgeable. The art is very special and it is an amazing way to lose yourself wandering around and seeing such unique and different perspectives. Kudos to the Boca Raton Museum of Art and the organizers of this fabulous not to miss event!

As a huge music fan I could not get enough of Robin Austin’s very cool art showcasing some of my favorite artists like David Bowie, The Beatles and Mick Jagger…and of course the icon Marilyn Monroe. Speaking of Marilyn…I am going to ask the organizers how many “Marilyns” were represented at the show as I saw at least 4 or 5 I think. All different and all well #soooverymarilynmonroe.

Thanks for buzzin’ by and getting your “art on”. Don’t forget to subscribe to #SoooBoca and our social media channels. We love this town and enjoy sharing it with all of you!

Frankly there are more than five spots we love and we update this post a couple of times a year so keep reading!

    Coffee Boca

Boca is a mecca for small business owners — this city takes pride in buying local and supporting our neighborhood shops. We love to check out different spots to share with our followers. Of course we enjoy the occasional Starbucks or a quick pit stop at Dunkin’ Donuts, but what we really love is the home brewed stuff. The slow roasted, cozy sitting cup of coffee. That being said, today’s ‘Five in the Hive’ is salutes some of our local coffee shops!

Here is a very unscientific poll I did on Nextdoor and here are the results of what type of coffee 52 people who responded liked or at least gave their input on:

10 Reasons To Fly Private via Boca Executive Airport!

Did you know you can fly into Boca Raton just as quickly as you can fly out! Why not fly private into and out of Boca Executive airport or as “locals” call it Boca Exec! Perhaps you have a meeting here or flying in for an FAU football game or a fabulous dinner …or just maybe you want to “land” that perfect waterfront property!  The airport is rich with history and has been part of Boca Raton since 1936. Big PS…flying to Minneapolis for the Superbowl…better book now Dano! So many flight options so little time! Check out the different flight companies right on site at Boca Exec!

During WWII Boca Exec served as a base for air-sea patrol, and a weigh station for planes being ferried to Europe.   Sitting along Airport Road you can see planes and gorgeous jets taking flight and landing daily with that gorgeous Boca blue sky as a backdrop or the FAU Football Stadium or both!

A Few Fun Boca Exec Flying Facts

    • The Airport encompasses 214 acres between Spanish River Boulevard and Glades Road. The Airport’s runway 5/23 is 6,276 feet long and 150 feet wide, with a full-length 40-foot wide parallel taxiway.
    • FAA Contract Tower located on the field. The Tower is open daily from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
    • Two full-service Fixed Based Operators (FBOs) are located at the Airport. Each FBO offers a range of amenities, such as fueling, ground handling, aircraft storage, conference rooms, catering, and limousine service.
    • Onsite Customs and Border Protection facility (coming soon) enabling international flights to fly directly into the Boca Raton Airport instead of first stopping at another airport to go through customs.

25 Places to Eat, Stay and To Do In Islamorada and The Florida Keys

#SoooBoca and Company Love the Florida Keys

My husband and I had our first long weekend date away in Key Largo and Tavernier back in 1988 and of course we went fishing and spent time at Holiday Isle and the Tiki Bar. We have loved introducing our daughters Kylie and Alle to the Florida Keys to enjoy all the things we have from fishing, to sunsets to just chillin’ out and hanging with the fam.

    1988 Holiday Isle – Islamorada

(Scroll to the bottom for show note links)

In the weeks that followed the storm the #SoooBoca squad helped coordinate a local fundraiser at Tim Finnegans in Delray Beach to raise over $25,000.00 to help those in need in the Florida Keys. In December, the mom of the #SoooBoca squad, that would be me, put together a video of some of our trips down to the Keys and shared it on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube to remind people to visit the Florida Keys, spend money there, charter a boat and support the local businesses.

    Cue the fabulous Alina Davis!

Alina is an amazing human and fellow Realtor with Coldwell Banker Schmitt! As my little December video was up and out there Alina, who lives in Islamorada, started commenting on what was open, going to open, still closed and clearly has an amazing finger on the pulse throughout the Keys!

So I said “Alina, would you be game to do a Facebook Live interview with me via #SoooBoca and lets talk about all these places that are open and getting ready to reopen and the state of the charter fishing industry and what not”… and she said YES!
