How to Choose Your Ride in Boca Raton

Planes, trains and automobiles and yes limousines — getting to and from Boca Raton should be the least of your worries. When planning your trip to one of South Florida’s most exclusive destinations a little guidance is in order. Traveling by air can always be a tad stressful, but with three major airports surrounding the Boca area, your options are much greater and easier to navigate. The toughest part of a travel day is the transportation to the airport but with the info below, your travel day should be as easy as 1..2..3..

    Boca Raton

Boca Raton has a plethora of private car and limousine services available all around town. Arrive in style or make a casual get away with the many choices that are available in the city. Avanti Limousine Service, Boca Lux Limo, Black Pearl Limousine and A1A Limo are some of the excellent local companies — just to name a few— bringing you to and from any of the major airports, Miami, West Palm or pretty much anywhere else you’d like to go. You can set up your service by calling or emailing the agency of your choice, a quick google search will give you even more to choose from. Have your flight info ready if you need an airport pick up or your destination available for an immediate price quote when you arrange your ride.

    Boca Raton

Another great option is Lyft or Uber — not too much needs to be said about these on demand services. A convenient, affordable option to a private car service. All you need is a smartphone and about a three minute notice before scheduling a car on one of these awesome apps. Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach international airports all have designated pick up locations for both Lyft and Uber available — making it a super simple way to get to and from the tarmac at the ease of your fingertips.

    Boca Raton

If you are more of a traditional soul, taxi services are also available in #SoooBoca on demand. Not as reliable as the aforementioned, but still an option nonetheless. If big yellow cars do it for you, 1-800-TaxiCab are the digits you will want to dial.

    Boca Raton

And of course with your good looks and great personality you may even be able to score a ride around Boca Raton from a good friend or family member. But remember please be sure to tip and say please and thank you!

Dine in Deerfield Beach – It’s As Easy as Oceans 234

If there is one thing you need to know about the #SoooBoca girls (Alle, Kylie and Michele Bee) — it is that we are serious about our food. We are the queens of dining out and being that there are three of us we split everything! We recently had the pleasure of being invited to experience a private chef tasting at one of our favorite restaurants, Oceans 234 for their delicious summer menu and to take a peak at what their newest executive chef William Middleton was up to in the kitchen! And believe us…it is all very, very good!

Now, we know Oceans 234 isn’t technically in the Boca city limits, but honey it might as well be. The proximity between Boca Raton and Oceans 234 is a stones throw away and in our opinion one of the best places to dine beach side locally.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant it felt like home — the presentation and atmosphere are always appreciated and familiar, yet  provokes surprise and delight due to the fabulous decor and of course the ocean views. The hostess  was expecting our arrival, and shortly after greeting us the always gracious and lovely Danielle Rosse, owner,  came by to give us the down low on their newest summer time items! A mix of fresh and savory choices decorated their summer menu — we opted to try dishes from both menus — because well duh why not!

Sooo let’s be real here, we just had to start the afternoon off right with a succulent round of brightly colored sangria — we decided we just had to try all three so white, pink and red it was! Each glass was  refreshing and light and was accompanied by a fragrant flower which was a lovely touch and the perfect compliment to the summer heat, while we were perusing the menus trying to decide which items to order.

If the sangria wasn’t enough to cool us down, Oceans 234 Beverage Coordinator Juan Chacon  stopped by to drop off their signature Froze to the table (Frozen Rosè — we mean really?!? Could the day get any better). If you haven’t tried Froze yet you need to literally drop everything your doing and run there — physically sprint because it is the best thing we have ever had…not to mention apparently they were the first restaurant in the area to be serving up this little frozen slice of heaven!

So while we were clinking our glasses and passing around the four signature vino classics we put in a order of Blue Crab Claws — melted in butter with red chili flakes and garlic served with dipping bread … HELLO… how sexy is that.

We also chose the Mezze Platter a trio of hummus, charred baba ganoush and a bright cucumber salad — mostly to set off the amount of butter we were about to consume but also because it was the perfect trio — similar to us 😉 The mezze platter is a modern twist on your tradition greek dips. The baba ganoush was clearly charred to perfection and melted as soon as it hit your lips. We called this one fork to mouth — no pita needed — seriously it was that good.

Last minute we decided to dive into something from the raw bar, with a great recommendation from our server Joe and we ended up trying the Tuna Poke which was totally delicious and aesthetically pleasing. The best part about the poke was the South Florida twist on the Hawaiian classic — instead of serving the poke al a carte or with rice this dish was served up nicely with plantain chips. If you want to know the way to the #SoooBoca girls hearts give us any type of chip for dipping and you’ve got our full attention.

As we munched, talked and sipped, Chef William, Oceans 234 executive chef came out to greet us and answer any questions we had. William is a Florida native, growing up just around the corner from Oceans 234 in Lighthouse Point. He has been in the food scene for over 18 years, he enjoys curating new recipes and is relishing the development of Oceans 234 current menu. As a meat and potatoes guy he suggested we try out their seasonal steak the Cajun’d Ribeye and the Pesto & Tomato Roasted Snapper with zoodles. We were wowed!

The rib-eye was seasoned perfectly and cooked to a warm medium-rare, while the snapper was dotted perfectly with sauce and laid delicately atop the zoodle mountain. Both dishes were hearty yet gentle and extremely elevated. We threw some grilled cauliflower  and crispy brussel sprouts in the mix to get our daily dose of vegetables, and trust us when we say this was a delectable choice.

As our meals and cocktails came to a close, it is safe to say we would be waddling out of the restaurant — but just as we were about to pack up our belongings and our full tummys, Joe brought over the dessert menu. Whelp … As you can imagine we did not have enough will power to say no — so two coffees and a blood orange creme brulë later we were in fact, waddling out of Oceans 234, leaving the beautiful beach scene, amazing hospitality and chic restaurant behind us.

    Oceans 234

What can we say except dining at Oceans 234 was #soooboca delightful  — it really is one of our favorite spots to buzz by for lunch, dinner, dessert or just a happy hour with friends. The food is always fresh and excellent, the service is impeccable and the atmosphere on the water is just what the heart desires. Thank you to Danielle Rosse, William Middleton, Juan Chacon, Shanine Dorta, our amazing server Joe and the entire Oceans 234 team for making our day oh sooo very special!

#SoooBoca attended The Wedding Showcase at the iconic and historic event venue The Addison build in 1926 by famous architect Addison Mizner in fabulous Downtown Boca.  It truly was a brides dream event in a romantic induced setting under the famous Addison banyan trees that are 100+ years old!

With my sidekick Alle Bellisari of www.hallealessia.com wedding photography in tow we literally traipsed (yes traipsed) from outdoor rooms to indoor gorgeousness enjoying appetizers, special cocktails like the Blackberry Bramble from Oceans 234, a refreshing drink on a typical warm summer evening. We also enjoyed the pineapple and watermelon martinis and the farmers table full of amazing cheeses, meats, breads and veggies in the ball room on the east side of the venue. And yes…there was cake and cupcakes and ice cream and … many sweet treats for one to taste and enjoy!

From elegant table settings, to DJ’s spinning, makeup and hair experts, to amazing photographers and videographers and of course the famous Bloomingdales Bridal Registry was there too…lets not forget the romantic serenading of violins and harps…musically there was something for every bride…and groom.

    Wedding

Lets talk about the gowns…oh my…at my wedding I was married in a Princess Diana copy…so you can imagine my delight seeing how the styles have changed and for the better I might add. The lovely models and their very happy demeanor’s made these stunning dresses simply come alive…literally floating around the venue…like opalescent bubbles floating through the air.

    Wedding

This was my first time attending this beautiful event. It was romantically whimsical…a complete joy to attend… with happy brides to be face-timing their besties and conversing with their moms with some very attentive and patient grooms to be… a lovely evening was had by all in beautiful Boca Raton.

#SoooBoca & The Downtown Boca Trolley Tour

    Downtown Boca Trolley Tour

Have you been curious about the new luxury condo and residential developments in Downtown Boca Raton? We were too!

Last night the Boca Raton Historical Society organized an amazing trolley tour of all of the new residential developments in Downtown Boca.

What is fantastic about what is happening, if you live in Downtown Boca, is you can walk to Mizner Park, Royal Palm Place, hit Trader Joes, ride your bike to the parks and beaches, take yoga in Sanborn Square, enjoy the Green Market as well as numerous restaurants, shops and businesses all around the 344 acres called Downtown Boca.

At each trolley stop, there was an informative presentation about amenities, unit information, location, availability, and pricing as well as refreshments and appetizers.

We visited 101 Via Mizner, Boca City Walk, 327 Royal Palm, Palmetto Promenade and The Residences at Mandarin Oriental.

Thank you to Mary Czar and her team at the Boca Raton Historical Society for a wonderful event! Don’t forget to shop this holiday season at the BRHS gift shop🌴

Since I originally went on this tour in November 2016,  The Hyatt Place at the corner of Palmetto Park Road and Federal Highway has opened and the views from the 7th-floor pool level are simply stunning! And Louis Bossi is now open! at the street level.

Thinking of moving to Downtown Boca Raton? You are in great company! We can help you upsize, downsize, relocate and more! “One Call Handles it All” when you work with our team! Work with someone who loves Boca Raton as much as you do!

#SoooBoca Loves Her Coffee! Great Places for Coffee in Boca!

    Coffee in Boca

    Coffee Plus #SoooBoca = A Successful Partnership!

I don’t know about you but as a busy Realtor with listings and property showings “coffee” is a main food staple for this gal on the go! Sooo…today’s #SoooBoca’s “Five in the Hive” focus is Coffee in Boca! Boca is a mecca for small business owners — this city takes pride in buying local and supporting our neighborhood shops. Of course we enjoy the occasional Starbucks or a quick pit stop at Dunkin’ Donuts, but what we really love is the home brewed stuff. The slow roasted, cozy sitting cup of coffee. That being said, today’s ‘Five in the Hive’ is salutes some of our local coffee shops! This will be on ongoing series so no worries…I will but updating and adding more local coffees spots!

    Coffee Boca

First on the list, is the sweet, quaint shop right off of Palmetto Park Road ‘The Seed.’ This spot popped up over night and since its curation has been a hometown favorite! Not only is the coffee toasty and amazing but the atmosphere is what elevates this cafe to the next level. The community tables are great for a large meet up and each seat has access to an outlet! If that doesn’t scream business meeting don’t know what does!

For a more traditional coffee experience stop by ‘Saquellas.’ Located in the heart of downtown Boca this long standing Italian cafe is known for their creamy cappuccinos, lattes and all around smooth coffee. Pair it with any of the bakery items and you are sure to be drifting off into mid-morning heaven. Don’t worry about getting lost in the plaza, just keep an eye out for Saquellas signature red chairs and you will be one sip closer to our favorite iced latte.

If cold brew coffee is on your agenda pop in at ‘Apura’ for an overnight brew that will get your wheels moving. Try the Vanilla Mocha Coffee, you definitely will not feel guilty about this yummy, sweet drink since it is made with all natural ingredients. This stop brews with intention, so you can be sure that anything you consume from Apura will be pure quality.

    Coffee Boca

There is nothing more french than cake and coffee. ‘Cote France Cafe’ is known for their authentic french pastries and steamy cups of caffeine goodness. Much like the sweet avenues of France this cafe is located on a cozy corner in the midst of Royal Palm Plaza — if you blink you may miss it. It is the perfect place for an after lunch pick me up or a feel good sweet.

New kid on the block ‘R1 Coffee, is just now making their debut on the coffee scene here in Boca Raton. Check them out over on Federal Highway and see what they are all about. Try a classic espresso or ask to check out their daily coffee menu..yes you read that correctly — DAILY COFFEE MENU. Sip and splurge over Boca’s newest cafe.

Now that you have the buzz on Coffee in Boca get to sipping some brew and let us know your favorite joint on our Facebook page ‘#Sooo Boca.’ so we can buzz on over and enjoy!

14 Tips to Listing Your Home During the Holidays!

Michele Bee’s Boca Buzz on Real Estate

Ho Ho Ho or Heck No? Why It is a Great Time to Sell During the Holiday Season!

Ahhh the age old question…do you hold off for between Thanksgiving and New Years to list your Boca Raton house or South Florida condo for sale in order to “get” through the holidays OR do you take advantage of South Florida’s lower inventory levels and less competition for buyers to look at?  Here are my thoughts on why you want to list your property now during this time frame!

Top 8 Reasons To List Your Property

    1. Less inventory for a buyer to look at!
    2. A buyer looking during the holiday season is a serious buyer and perhaps relocating or at an end of a lease.
    3. Decorations can make a home feel cozy and if done correctly can be very appealing to a buyer to envision for their own holiday in their new home.
    4. You can begin the New Year fresh knowing you are closed or soon to be closing. Not just starting the process of listing your home.
    5. One thing sellers are not aware of is that they can block out showing times…work with your agent on that.
    6. Great marketing opportunity to tie the ultimate gift of a home as a present for someone special out there!
    7. Inventory levels rise after the holidays. Seller’s who have had their “final” holiday celebrations are ready to move.
    8. Homestead Exemption – see the Palm Beach Property Appraiser link I have included for complete details.

(Please Note:  You must have an existing Homestead Exemption to qualify for additional exemptions. The deadline to file for Homestead Exemption is March 1 of the qualifying year. For more information, call us at (561) 355-2866 or contact us at myexemption@pbcgov.org)

    What Is My Home Worth?

Top 5 Tips on Staging Your Home During The Holidays

    1. Make this a time to do your “fall” cleaning and decluttering. Keep it, donate it or get rid of it. Get a small warehouse for storage and get that donation receipt for tax purposes. (Make sure all curbside bulk is picked up too).
    2. You are not inviting potential buyers to your annual holiday party so keep it simple and neutral, put the cookies and liquor in a cabinet when you have showings. (See my Pinterest and Houzz ideas).
    3. Go easy on lights (white lights are awesome by the way) and the outdoor decor…a great neutral for holiday decor is to look to the beach and ocean for ideas to decorate your home. For this year let the blow up outdoor sad during the day snowman stay in the garage until next year.
    4. Pinterest and Houzz are your best friends for ideas fabulously simple yet gorgeous holiday decorations and decor.
    5. Remember that all of the space in your house doesn’t need to be decorated and throw out the old decorations. You can check out Homegoods, TJ Maxx or Bealls’s (which is the photo in this blog) for fresh ideas for a small investment.

So now you have a few good tips on what to do when you decide it is time to list and sell your property during the last couple months of the year. Remember, there are 3 holidays that banks and title companies are closed so factor that in to your timeline.

The one last and most important tip of all is this… hire a great Realtor who doesn’t go MIA during the holiday season. I love the excitement of closing a chapter and new beginnings like out with the old year and in with the new one!

Happy Holidays to you and your family!

    Fundraiser for the Florida Keys

    Hello Friends,

The last few weeks have been hard on everyone dealing with Hurricane Irma. I hope you are well and if you need
any assistance please reach out to friends, neighbors, family and even myself.

As you scroll down you will see we have planned an amazing fundraiser for the Florida Keys.

Let me also wish you a very happy Rosh Hashanah and wishing all who celebrate a sweet New Year filled with love,
    health and peace!

I am sending this out today to let you know about a fundraiser that I am part of for our friends that were devastated by
the storm in the Florida Keys.

Our family has great memories spending a ton of time in the Keys and we also have a property in Key Largo.

We luckily had little damage but it was very hit and miss. We had a house guest here from Key Largo and happy to
report his home was in decent shape. The neighbor next door however did not fair as well.

We plan to enjoy many more years in Key Largo and adjoining Keys and know the people there are resilient and strong.

Join us on September 28th at Tim Finnegans from 6 pm – 10 pm in Delray Beach.

This is a benefit concert fundraiser and you can click the link for ticket and donation details.

We are in need of auction items for a ” mystery box” live auction so if you would like to donate something please let me know.
